PASTOR’S PAGE

September is the month that we begin to turn our attention to our Fall schedule.  School has started back and we know that before we can turn the calendar Christmas will have arrived, at least at our local stores.  There is much to anticipate in September:  the changing leaves, pumpkins, fall festivals, the county fair, hog happening, the Shelby Christmas parade, the list goes on.

Anticipation is a wonderful thing.  It speaks of the things we hope and expect to see, feel and experience in coming moments, days, weeks, months and years.  There is joy in anticipation.  There is promise in anticipation.  Scripture says, “We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for the adoption, the redemption of our bodies.  But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience” (Romans 8:22-23).

As we enter into this season of anticipation, let us anticipate joy filled moments with our Savior Jesus Christ.  He has taught us that his presence never fades and his love never falters or fails.  Anticipate good things my friends…..good things.

Growing with you in the grip of God’s grace,

Pastor Jeff
