Welcome to the Ascension Lutheran faith community. Ascension seeks to be an expression of, as well as an extension of God's grace in the Shelby area. It is a small strong church that seeks mission growth over member growth. We think you will agree that these days there is a huge difference between simply going to church and involving or sharing one's life in a faith community. As a faith community, Ascension is a place where persons can share the richness of life, the joys, the sorrows and all that the years will bring in the context of a community centered on Jesus Christ. When the Holy Spirit guides a person's life to Ascension, they learn that people don't simply attend Ascension, they become Ascension in the sense that they learn how Jesus' call to discipleship is a call for their very lives to become extensions and expressions of God's grace in the world.
